ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Bombers began play at the Ithaca College Invitational by defeating Widener 3-1 (30-20, 24-30, 30-19, 30-22), improving their overall record to 4-1.

The Bombers had a balanced attack against the Pioneers, led by sophomore Katie Hause (St. Mary's/Colorado Springs, Colo.) with 19 kills and senior Andrea Blitz (Webster/Webster) with 14. Sophomores Casey Buss (Barnstable/Yarmouthport, Mass.) and Jenna Yehl (Horseheads/Horseheads) set their teammates up with 25 and 21 assists apiece, respectively, while seniors Kaye Haverstock (Huntingdon/Hesston, Pa.) and Jen Cramer (Beavercreek [Ohio]/Chittenango) paced Ithaca with 24 and 21 digs, respectively.

The Bombers play Brockport in their second match which starts at 8 p.m. Friday.
